I have created this mark and I have been managing this project for more than 16 years to date.

Let me introduce myself then. My name is Nunzio LA FERLITA, fiftythree years old aerospace engineer, tight up with informatics for more than 32 years to date.

I started with problems concerning the Blind and the Personal Computer back in February 1986; and I never stopped ever from. I have many Blind friends in Italy and around the world, even among the Italian Blind Union Top Management, who know me and do appreciate the time and the never ending enthusiasm I put over these years to solving this one big problem: how to make distances between poor sighted and normal sighted people become smaller, if not zero.

After long years pioneering in this market, like it happened with the first, pocket size, fully prosodic Speech Synthesizer for the Blind announced back in 1988, the very famous S A Synthesizer, of which more than 500 units were sold; the screen reader program called 'The Vocal Filter', so simple to use that more than 2,500 Blind persons could start getting along with a PC; or OMNIVOX, the last born kid of a numerous family of ICR software programs based on OMNIPAGE technology, whose first unit was delivered on March 1st 1990, with over 400 happy users around Italy up to date; now it's the turn of INTERNET to come up to stage.

In fact I am very happy to announce the last version of the American program "Net-Tamer" in Italian language, that you can easily download from the Home Page of this Web Site. Net-Tamer is Uncle Dave's baby, namely it's produced and distributed worldwide by the brilliant professor David Colston, whose say is "You don't need a Pentium to surf the Web"; upon which statement I totally agree. Unfortunately, I have faced many problems over the last two years; among which the honor of seeing my products cloned and distributed with a different name on top; or the bad feeling of being tricked and forced to losing many months in defending my name and honor, which I would have liked to be devoted to new ideas I had in mind for the sake of the Blind.

But I am happy to be talking to you from a Web page; and I am sure that many people reading me now are using Net-Tamer. And I could turn even happier if I could receive from you a message of friendship and participation, in order to be sure that you will join me in the effort of achieving the right objectives together, for many years to come.
